Virtual Reality Intro
Virtual Reality, also known as VR, is the simulation of comnputer graphics to make it look like you are inside of the screen using typically using goggles or headsets. Virtual Reality as a term was first used in 1987, However, virtual reality similar to the one we have today goes back as far as 1969.
Early History Of Virtual Reality
Early Virtual Reality was primarily developed by the government, specifically The Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation, and NASA. In 1975, Myron Kruegere made the first true virtual reality headset called VIDEOPLACE. 2 years later, MIT made a ancient prequel to google maps street view, in VR. In 1986, the "Super Cockpit" was invented, which was a cockpit for pilots that included virtual reality.
Current State of Virtual Reality
Although before it was hard to obtain, virtual reality is not hard to experience now, with affordable headsets such as The Oculus Quest. With realistic graphics and ease of access, virtual reality is now a very popular format to play games in, as it can really make it amazing. In conclusion, Virtual Reality is a very intresting technology that is always evolving and is fascnating to me and hopefully to you.
